Last Tuesday, I was losing badly at Scrabble.
My cousin, who plays like a grandmaster, had just dropped a bingo. I was left staring at a rack of letters that was a complete mess.
Q, X, J, and a bunch of vowels. Ugh. You know that feeling, right? That sinking feeling when your brain just shuts down.
I was about to Google for help when I remembered… wait. The tools out there are mostly garbage.
They’re slow, they’re covered in pop-up ads, and half the time they suggest words that aren’t even legal in the game. That’s the root pain. The moment when the solution you find is just as frustrating as the problem.
That’s why this site exists. It started because I got tired of the other tools letting me down. So I decided to build my own.
What We Believe (It’s More Than Just a Game)
This isn’t just about finding words. It’s about respecting the game. Our mission is to be the most trusted, helpful, and genuinely human resource that transforms those frustrating moments into breakthrough victories.
- Radical Helpfulness: We’d rather over-explain than leave you confused.
- Earned Authority: Our credibility comes from thousands of hours of actual play, not just SEO tricks.
- Honest Transparency: We’re a one-person operation, and we’re open about it. We’ll tell you when a strategy is overrated or when the official rules are just plain stupid.
The Tools, and the Stories Behind Them
Every tool here was born from a specific moment of pain.
- The Word Unscrambler was the first. The original. Built because I was sick of low-scoring turns and my cousin’s smug look.
- The Wordle Solver happened in the depths of the 2021 Wordle craze. My streak was on the line (day 78, I think) and I was completely stuck. I built the first version that night.
- The Crossword Solver was the result of a brutal Sunday puzzle. My coffee was cold, my pride was wounded, and 34-Across was mocking me. I thought: there has to be a better way to handle patterns.
- The Anagram Solver exists simply because rearranging letters is a weird and wonderful kind of meditation for word nerds like us.
Let’s Talk About “Cheating”
Is this cheating? Let’s be real. If you’re using our Words With Friends Cheat to finally beat your friend who has an unbeatable three-year winning streak… I get it. Sometimes you just need to restore balance to the universe.
But here’s something most players don’t know: the best players use tools like this to study. They analyze patterns, memorize high-probability bingo stems, and learn new words.
They use a Word Descrambler like a sparring partner. It’s the difference between using a calculator to avoid learning math and using it to check your work.
The choice is yours. We’re just here to give you the best toolkit possible.
And Me?
I’m Sumit Jha. The guy who built all this.
There’s no big team. It’s just me, a software engineer from India, who is completely and totally obsessed with word games.
I handle the coding, the servers, and the emails. And yes, I still play every single day. When you send feedback, you’re talking directly to me.
This site isn’t just a project. It’s the tool I use for my own games. The fact that it helps thousands of other players too is what makes it so rewarding.
Thank you for being here. For real. Now go win a game.
Our Data & Accuracy Standards
Accuracy matters in word games. A single invalid word can cost you a challenge penalty or a lost turn. That’s why we take our word database seriously.
Our dictionary sources include:
- TWL (Tournament Word List) – The official Scrabble dictionary used in North American tournaments, maintained by Hasbro. We keep our database current with the latest edition.
- SOWPODS / Collins Scrabble Words (CSW) – The international Scrabble dictionary used in tournaments outside North America. Our tool supports both TWL and SOWPODS to serve players worldwide.
- Enable Word List – A comprehensive public domain word list widely used in word game applications, providing broad coverage for casual play.
Every word in our database is cross-referenced against these official sources. Our Scrabble and Words With Friends point values are calculated using the official tile distributions for each game. When dictionaries update, we update within days – not months.
